Breguet Type XXII Steel Chronograph Watch

The Breguet Type XXII 10 Hz Chronograph watch features a round stainless steel case measuring 44mm in diameter and 17.3mm in thickness. It is equipped with a deployment clasp and a stainless steel bracelet with a hidden folding clasp. The uni-directional rotating bezel has black Arabic numerals, and the black dial features luminous Arabic numerals and hands, as well as a date indication at 6 o'clock. The watch also includes a chronograph function, with central seconds, a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour counter, and a day/night display. Its 28-jewel caliber 589 F self-winding 10Hz movement has a silicon escapement and a 45-hour power reserve. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and water resistance to 100 meters make this watch both durable and reliable.

In 2010, Breguet introduced the Type XXII (reference 3880ST), its first 10Hz watch. This new movement with a silicon escapement and flat balance spring achieves an exceptionally high frequency of 10 Hertz, or 72,000 vibrations per hour. This gives the movement exceptional regulating power, with its chronograph seconds hand making a complete rotation every 30 seconds. As a result, the timepiece's start function and readout are twice as precise. The use of silicon is at the heart of this technical feat, resulting in more lightweight mobile components and avoiding the lubrication problems associated with high frequencies.
